The most underrated present of all the EXPERIENCE GIFT! Here are some of my favorite “experiences” that would make great last minute, but thoughtful gifts for your loved ones. 

Sofar Sounds are worldwide private concerts and gigs hosted in intimate places like someone's backyard or a gallery. You can reserve tickets in advance based on neighborhood/city but you won’t know the exact address until the day before the show. Even more fun, you don’t know who the artists will be until you arrive at the show. Tickets are only $15-$30 per person! 

Headspace is a meditation app that offers hundreds of sessions designed for stress, sleep, focus, anxiety and much more. I use Headspace every night before going to bed and can think of a fewww people in my life that would definitely benefit from a meditation subscription. The yearly price is discounted to $69.99 or you can give a month for $12.99. 

Tarot Reading This definitely is not for everyone, but my friend Jane gave me a Tarot Reading for birthday and it was such an incredible experience. Tarot is something I would never think to spend my own money on, but it made for such a thoughtful “cool” gift. Cooking Class In almost every city or town I am sure you can find a cooking class. Sur La Table host classes inside their boutiques nationwide with very intriguing menus and themes like: Winter in Paris, Tuscan Winter Super, or a French Pastry Workshop. Here in SF, I know there a several cooking schools and mixology courses where you learn all about cocktails! Sur La Table classes in SF range from $59-$89 per person. 

Spa / Massage Gift Certificate I have definitely gifted my mom numerous times a spa credit or massage gift certificate. Paying for someone else to pamper themselves is such a luxury. I suggest supporting the local spas in your area who will always have great holiday packages, but it you don’t know where to go Zeel is an amazing app that offers on demand access to massage therapists nationwide. They offer packages and memberships or you can book a single massage. More about Zeel here. 

Workout class I will be doing an entire fitness junkie gift guide next week, but if you know someone is obsessed with a specific studio or always talks about wanting to try XYZ class, get them a class package! Most studios do special promotions around the holidays for example I know Barry’s Bootcamp is doing a big sale today through Friday (12/7).  

Those are just a few ideas, but other great experience gifts are ticketed events such as: concerts, sports games, plays, art exhibits, etc.
