W.R.L. #1
Welcome to a new series called W.R.L. where I will be sharing what I have been watching, reading, and listening to this week.
Watch
Grace and Frankie /Netflix
I just finished season 5 and it is perfect for when you just want something on in the background as your working on your computer or putzing around and don’t need to pay attention to every second. (Probably why GOT is not happening for me) .”For as long as they can recall, Grace and Frankie have been rivals. Their one-upmanship comes crashing to a halt, however, when they learn that their husbands have fallen in love with each other and want to get married. As everything around the ladies is coming apart, the only thing they can really rely on is each other”.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel /Amazon
Only 3 episodes in, but I am totally hooked on this Emmy award winning series. “In 1958 New York, Midge Maisel's life is on track- husband, kids, and elegant Yom Kippur dinners in their Upper West Side apartment. But when her life takes a surprise turn, she has to quickly decide what else she's good at - and going from housewife to stand-up comic is a wild choice to everyone but her”.
Dating Around /Netflix
Like the bachelor, but more like real life dating. “Each episode features a single who goes on five first dates that are filled with flirty banter, awkward exchanges and -- hopefully -- moments of true connection. Once the quintet of blind dates is over, the dater is tasked with picking one match who is worthy of a second date. The dating show takes an honest and compelling look at the real world of wooing potential mates.”
Read
Beauty lover or not if you ever wear makeup you need to read this article from the NYT.
The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. I LOVE a good fiction / mystery / thriller. “Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all--a loving relationship, a wonderful home, and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately focuses on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story.”
Much needed how to guide from The Coveteur on using a foam roller.
Listen
Over My Dead Body /Wondrey
Wondrey does it again. I became completely enthralled (and disturbed) by Dr. Death, a show they produced last year and so far Over My Dead Body is not disappointing.
The Skin-Gut Connection /Goop Podcast
The goop podcast is one of my favorite’s that I subscribe to because of how informative and thought provoking each episode is. This episode features naturopathic doctor and aesthetician Nigma Talib who walks through just how important gut health is to what happens to your skin. Another standout episode was one from last week ‘How to Deal with Assholes’ which I know a lot of people would benefit from that lesson.
What are you WRL to? Any suggestions for me? I would love to here.
xx
